That Vancouver trade doesn’t make sense for either team

Besides the fact that Tavares would not waive his ntc, you want to downgrade the team while getting older and committing to more term? With their direct replacements. Malkin is not getting 10 mill and Chariot is not a good Dman.

To get Miller I would do a pick and prospects package, tho who knows how expensive that will be.

Edit :
Holtby is not worth 4 mill and would not be a starter any longer.

Edmonton doesn't have the cap space to take on Muzzin's contract, nor do they need more left shooting defenders.

The leafs would never trade Marner for Miller. Miller at 29 just had his career high in points last yr. Marner at 25 he has 1 less point in his career than Miller. Big difference is Miller has played a 190 more games. The trade value isn't even close.

Canucks are rebuilding or retooling and toronto is in a win now scenario

That's why they trade foegele. Their defense isn't good so they take a bad contract for a decent defenseman
