Forget Brannstrom, what would it take for the Canes to get Formenton.

Probably costs more than a 3rd and a 5th to dump that Murray contract. 6.25m cap hit is one thing, but his salary the next 2 seasons is 7 million and 8 million. That's a lot of money to pay a goalie who can't seem to put it back together. May end up having to keep him or buy him out.

Sens would have to add if that’s the Canes.

Yeah I do agree with that... just heard on the radio that the market for murray may not be as bad as we thought so I just traded him for as little as possible without having to give up assets.

Formy is good I wouldn't add much at all... if that would be the case I'd just keep him

I guess it will depend on what the goalie market looks like this summer and how desperate a team gets. Could be a very strange off-season this year with so many cap strapped teams and so few willing to take on salary.

I’ve seen more for him. Usually Sens/ Konecny type of deals involve the 23 first, Brannstrom, and one of Ostapchuk or Lodin… I guess it really depends on how you value certain prospects, nothing wrong with Roby but I like the other two better. Also seen interesting ones involving other teams with similar returns

You are crazy if you think the Canes are trading Pesce just to get Formenton, who isn’t even as good as Necas yet. I would expect for Pesce the starting piece is something along the lines of Tkachuk. And that is never happening so it’s a moot point.

For Formenton, I would offer up 2 quality prospects and a pick, with the prospects coming in about when Ottawa’s cup window starts to really open up. I would offer something along the lines of Honka, Gunler, and a 5th. A projected top 4 RHD and a projected top 6 RW, and a 5th. Do you think the Sens would consider that package.

I didn't suggest pesce but if you think he has that kind of value to suggest tkachuk that's insane to me... ottawa is looking to take steps forward so they wouldnt be interested in a deal involving picks and prospects back.... wouldnt make sense for them

You may be right but not so sure . Been hearing on the radio the market may not be as sour as we all thought on murray

I've heard, reports from Bruce that the sens are looking aggressively to move Murray in a package with their first

I think the only way that happens is if it's a bigger deal and ottawa gets the top 4 d or top 6 forward they are looking for at the same time

If Ottawa is interested I would include olofsson at our end.

Victor Olofsson
And

2023 conditional 2nd, worst of the 3 we have

For

Murray
Ottawa's 2022 1st round pick.

I'm not suggesting that it would just be Formenton. I was putting it out there to see what sort of package that includes Formenton would it take to get Pesce. The Sens are not in a rebuilding window anymore. You can see from the DeBrincat trade, the team is looking to fill in holes in the lineup so they can make the playoffs this season. A top 4 RD is a player they're looking for.

Connor Brown isn't worth a first, even with 50% retained. He scored 10 goals last season ffs.

Yea, kind of surprising given how much they were willing to pay Buffalo to take him only to have Toronto do it for peanuts by comparison haha.
