Scheifele fits the profile of the type of player the Rangers are trying to acquire to win a Cup next year he may walk for nothing from Jets in 2 years.

For less than 1M, NYR can extend Copp- which doesn't require expending any assets. At face value Scheif > Copp....but Copp has already proven himself to be a good fit with NYR, while I've only heard question marks regarding Scheif in the locker room.

LA isn't giving up Turcotte to NYR unless K'Andre Miller is coming back.

Zero chance Winnipeg retains on Scheifele and trades him without getting a single piece with any value in return.

I thought the 2 players in the trade are both former 1rst round picks.

Francis: Is this a prank call?

No way are you getting that for 22/23-point Chytil.

I agree but if Copp gets to freeagency like it looks I think he may sign elsewhere

Chytil - in my opinion will be a 40 point + player next year and has become a good 2-way hockey player. I think that his confidence is up and it will impact his next several years. I could see him even hitting over 50/60 points in the next 5 years

Kakko had almost no pp or PK time with the Rangers because they were in the top 10 in both categories. Kakko should become a 80+ point player with great 2-way reliability in the next 3 years, as for Lundvist he can play in all situations and having won the Boris Salming Award in the SHL for best overall defenseman in his last year there as a 20 year old, will be a top 4 D guaranteed maybe even number 1. He had little chance with the Rangers strong young D.

Don't think he's hellbent on going UFA...but that's his leverage to get Drury to come up...supposedly in talks w/ Drury he's stuck on 5.5M per...don't know how true that is though because Drury is pretty tight lipped- so how would that # slip out?
