Jake Evans is a key penalty killer and defensive bottom six forward on a fantastic contract. After what Hagel got I’d rather keep him and try to build his value playing full time under St. Louis. (Because someone will misinterpret this, I am not saying I expect Evans to get the Hagel return, I think if he’s traded though the value of the contract he’s on will certainly net a bigger return than Barrie though).

I dont think Evans is coming over in a Barrie trade. Poehling, maybe. The 750k cap hit would help in a bottom 6 role on Edmonton over a guy like Ryan.

I have no clue what Barrie's value would be on the market. They could be paying to move him if they get desperate to make space like Brisebois in TB or they could acquire a few picks if the RHD market is thinned out with Letang, Klingberg signing.
