So we have to pay our best prospect AND a first to dump Mrazek, but Ottawa doesnt have to give up anything to move Murray and his entire cap hit? Ok...

sens accept and then immediately leave montreal and make their picks remotely so dubas can’t catch up to them and try to reverse the trade

going after Murray would be extremely idiotic given his current cap hit. Don't give anything for him and just force Ottawa to buy him out and sign him cheap. If another team is willing to make a trade let them there are better Goaltending options available.

I think the trade will involve lateral movement of bad contracts (Mrazek). Ottawa will pay more in assets (one of the two 2nd rounders they own in this draft + late blooming prospect). Might be another contract to make the cap work a little better too (Holl?). It's going to be a busy day today.

because it's never simply tire kicking (or a guy like dreger recycling a tip he got 2 years ago without using context) with this guy. It's always the worse case scenario so he can get people angry at dubas. Dont buy the bit

I don't think Ottawa can afford that, it would make Mrazek a 6+ million dollar goalie. But if they sent Murray over at 50% and a mid round pick, that is something that would interest me.

probably not, but that's the kind of thing that is actually being discussed when teams are 'in' on salary dump players. The only reason buffalo wanted him was to get futures out of Ottawa and weaponize their cap space.

Well now they can get Mrazek for nothing if they need a goalie lol
