Description
Overall I’m pretty happy with this draft. Brad Lambert is someone who has top 5-3 pick in the draft potential and we got him at 30.

  1. Perfetti, Cole
Additional Details:
#1:
For me it’s not as clear cut anymore but I will still give Cole the #1 spot in my prospect rankings. He has unbelievable hands and high hockey IQ that makes him a very gifted puck distributor.
2.
WPG

  1. Lambert, Brad

#2

Yes this high, and I seriously considered putting him 1 because I think his upside is just massive. He is an elite skater that allows him to be an a huge threat off the rush. He has the skill and speed combo that can make a player simply elite. His play at the WJC is more how he truly is as a player in my view.
3.
WPG
ANA
  1. Heinola, Ville
Additional Details:
#3
Ville Heinola was one of if not the best defenceman in the AHL this season. He was truly an elite two way D last year and a change in systems of how the team uses their dman could be very beneficial to Ville.
4.
WPG
ANA
  1. Samberg, Dylan
Additional Details:
#4
Another prospect who will graduate this year. Big and mobile, he’s able to close gaps quickly and never let them get to big. He has a great defensive stick and mindset. Decent agility from the blue line allows him to get his shots through effectively.
5.
WPG
ANA
  1. Chibrikov, Nikita [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
#5 had a great season in the VHL. Very dynamic with the puck, reminds me of a LITE version of Nikolaj Ehlers
6.
WPG
ANA
  1. Lucius, Chaz
Additional Details:
#6
Chaz is an elite shooter and is good at manipulating defenders to get his shot off. I would love to see a little hit more dynamic ability before I move him up this board.
7.
WPG
ANA
  1. Chisholm, Declan
Additional Details:
#7 Couldn’t really leave him off any longer. Really high end skater and was a key part in a fantastic moose defensive core last season. His transition ability really shone with the moose, and his ability to win loose pucks meant less time spent in the defensive end. Think Devon Toews with him in terms of style
8.
WPG
ANA
  1. McGroarty, Rutger [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
# 8
I’ll be honest when I say I wasn’t the biggest fan of Rutger at 14, however their is still a clear path for him to become an effective hockey league player. Soft hands in tight, and a really good shot. Extremely high character so you can’t help but to root for him
9.
WPG
    # 9
    ANA
    1. Gustafsson, David [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
    #9
Another player likely to graduate this year. Strong 2 way instincts that just has a knack for chaining positive plays together, and has shown offensive flashes at a good rate in the AHL.
    10.
    WPG
    ANA
    1. Rashevsky, Dmitri
    Additional Details:
    #10
Hard to put a player here who put up 35 points in 48 games in the KHL. Extremely high energy player who always wants the puck on his stick.

#3 defenceman in my opinion, maybe a low end to decent #2

Lambert could very possibly end up being the best offensive player from this draft. He reminds me so much of Scheifele, it was very ironic to me that Winnipeg ended up drafting him

I agree but I also think the conceptions of him being lazy or horrendous defensively aren't quite deserved yet. His team was straight up brutal and you can see that he try's out there. I guess Scheifele used to try to lol. Also, 55 was never as dynamic as Brad Lambert is skating wise in my opinion

I wasn’t a huge fan of the mcgroarty pick either but I have faith in the scouting staff. Getting lambert at 30 made me forget all about that first pick lol. I was shocked. Really hope lambert plays for seattle next year.

I was hoping for a drop or trade up for savoie, nobody should be surprised on either pick, the way they fell, I got sold on this site that Carolina traded up for lambert and hook line and sinker. Nice surprise when it wasn’t true lol

The future could be bright if they give all these guys a legit chance to make the team.

Think I'd have Gawanke and Torgersson somewhere in my top 10 list, wasn't too high on the Torgersson pick but he looked good with the Moose, he has a nose for the net and good size which are both things the Jets could use.

Gawanke is really good, he and Chisholm are a pretty dynamic D pair, he'll probably be an AHL lifer unfortunately cause that's just what this stupid organization does with most of their secondary prospects but he's really impressive at the AHL level, honestly I find both Gawanke and Chisholm a lot more noticeable than Heinola is in the Moose games I've watched.

Gawanke would be #11 on my list. I had a hard time leaving him off. I agree that Chisholm, Gawanke pair was awesome to watch and will probably be the top pair on the moose this season.

Exact statement why they need some front office changes or some philosophical changes, jets need development along with great drafting, got to quit putting veteran minimums ahead of kids. Time to gamble and let some of these kids sink or swim. Kids growing stale on the farm is a awful approach, a family friend is a undrafted rookie out of whl and a a pile of teams kicking the tires on him. Sj, van, ari, dal, mtl, min I believe. I told him Arizona and completely on opportunity over anything else. They can’t afford to not develop you and probably won’t stick veterans ahead of you. Lhd dman so hopefully finds opportunity

Agreed 100%. I don't see why Perfetti, Heinola, Samberg, and Gustafsson shouldn't all gradate the prospect list this season.
