To expand on what my friend tryger said, fitting Marcus Pettersson in would be very difficult:

Current Los Angeles roster:
11 forwards = $44.6 million
4 defenders = $17.5 million (Doughty, Roy, Walker, Spence)
2 goalies = $10.8 million
dead cap = $2 million
Subtotal = $74.9 million
Vilardi = $1 million or less
Turcotte, or other promotion from Ontario = < $1 million
Anderson = $2.5 million or more
Durzi = $1.5 million
Total = $80.9 million or more
Amount remaining for one LD (i.e., remaining cap space) = less than $1.6 million

So we couldn't fit Pettersson in even at 50% retention unless you took Alex Iafallo back, which would mean adding your 2023 first-round draft pick to the offer.
