Description

I think we can all agree that the most likely scenario looks something like this. Maybe a bit different, but something along these lines. Maybe you would rather have someone else instead of kappy. Maybe you would rather dumoulin get traded rather than pettersson. Maybe you would want zucker traded (but we all know it aint happening). But the most likely scenario is something like this.

SO the question becomes, who do you want to fill out "a top, 9 forward"? How would you put the finishing touches on this team, with a bit over 4 mil to spend?

I think Kapanen can come cheaper which creates a little more wiggle room for the second line winger spot. Maybe Milano, Marchment, Lindblom or Copp?

I am still a nervous wreck with the cap space. Almost 12 hours until Free Agency and a LHD has not been moved out. Free Agency is fast and furious, Hextall better be working the phone all night.

Really think they should try and move mcginn as well to a team that misses out in free agency and still needs a depth forward. Then you can sign copp to play 2 LW and take faceoffs for Malkin who was just atrocious in that regard last season.

My ideal scenarios go:
1. Ryan Strome + Sonny Milano + trade Kapanen
2. Mason Marchment + Sonny Milano + trade Kapanen
3. Copp + trade Kapanen + call up Nylander

Miller is still my guy because he can play wing or C. That's a good thing with Geno and his 10-20 game extended breaks. I'd actually put Miller at C and Geno on the wing. Need another E-Rod/Rusty type guy who can play anywhere and be effective. DOC was able to be that guy at the start of the season, but when Sid Returned he was pushed down to the 4th line

yeah that was not buffalo specific- any team. He is a solid player albeit not the sexiest option - I could see a team who loses on free agency taking him

I forget who reported it but there are apparently offers on the table for the defensemen. whether Pettersson has any interest remains to be seen but I imagine teams will wait to trade until they can feel out the free agents

I actually like him! he’s got all the physical tools in place, just needs to learn how to put it together. I believe he can be a very good top-6 winger

the problem is that the Pens are in win-now mode and they just can’t wait on Kapanen any longer. bring in solid third-liners that can contribute consistently

That McGinn contract is crippling but I think the obvious answer here is Marchment. He's the best fit for that line at mil and under
