Maybe now Vancouver fans will go away with the nonsense JT Miller trades?

He puts up Copp numbers without Panarin, plus is better on the PK and better on faceoffs.

At least it's realistic in that the buyout won't kill us when we're inevitably doing it in 2-3 seasons.

Lots of term for a 29 year old. But even at that you're hoping Nemeth gets traded. If some of those bonuses happen, it deletes cap from next season.

Copp is a 3rd line winger and now overpaid, Trocheck is a 2c who's faster, way more physical, offensive, special teams and top 25 in faceoffs

I thought Copp is a good face off man. Also Trocheck is not faster than Copp lol.

Copp is ok on draws, more of a winger and kinda slow, so no, not funny at all...

He’s def not slow lol. Nobody has ever said that about him. I’m not even trying to be a dick cause I’m an isles fan. I just think your GM ****ed up badly.

Trocheck is faster than Copp, he's also better offensively, a more natural center, and is better than Copp when it comes to faceoffs.

Of course you do, that's fair. That's how I felt before watching him regularly, he's a 4.5m winger and would not have been our 2c. Wise move

I’ve never been a huge Trocheck guy. I think he has less left in the tank than Copp tbh.

Lol. You're trying hard. Watching both in playoffs closely, the eye test showed Copp as kinda lethargic and Trocheck as aggressive and impressive

like the player, good AAV, terrible term - but if it comes down to it I'd rather eat the extra years at the end and get him signed for the same AAV that Copp signed for.

Copp was a 40-45 point middle 6 guy until he came to New York and put up points playing with Panarin and Strome.

Trocheck has been a solid 50-55 point game throughout his career with a couple years where he exceeded that, I think he could put up numbers with Panarin.

As an Islanders fan, not happy about having to deal with him for the next few years.

I definitely agree with this. Trocheck is a lot more of a play driver than Copp, or Strome for that matter. Both were complimentary pieces offensively, the only upside for Copp was that he could play defense. With Trocheck coming in, and Kakko breaking out both become kind of redundant, especially with what they were asking for. The problem Panarin had last playoff was that neither of his teammates were helping with forechecking, and opening lanes for him to pass in, Trocheck and Kakko will both do that, giving Panarin more room to work with. Plus, Trocheck wins more faceoffs than either of the other two, so that should boost the offense from the second line as well. If he works, he's the exact player we need.
