looks like Grier’s goal is to block every chance for any of the prospect to make the club next year with BS depth players!
So far i’ve hated every move and now I’m missing DW and Jr!

Super awesome to have, but we literally cannot score goals and our top six will keep getting caved in

What's unbelievable is that is the exact contract offer Guerin gave to Sturm at the TDL that he decided to turn down because it wasn't enough money.

He was delt to Colorado the next day.

But hey, at least he won a cup right?

Was it three years? It’s way too large a deal for my liking

I only think Hertl and Meier are top six. Rest are bottom sixers

Jr's still with the team though. He literally was making draft picks for SJ at the draft and announcing them.

****ing hell, there was no reason whatsoever to sign those three UFAs when playing our youngsters would've been just enough to get us to tank. I understand he's trying to get the Sharks to the lottery ASAP, but this is not how you do it. And Sturm for 3 years when he could've just been $1M for 2 years? This is not a good start Mike...

They should’ve gotten more for Burns too. It was a bad return.

Burns wasnt bad last season. 54 points. He’s not a top pairing RHD anymore but give him 2nd pairing minutes and he should be really good in that role.

He’d be a top 2nd pairing RHD. Especially at 5.2M. A lot worse offensive D-man have been getting similar pay to that. It’s a bit much. 4M-4.5M would be a lot better but what’s 700K. Not a huge difference.

But SJ holding 2.7M for 3 seasons is a big deal. 2.7M per is a mid 6 forward. Or a really good 3rd pairing D.

Meier and Hertl, and I'd sneak in Couture for being 2C and Eklund for likely making the this team. Although, I don't know how Eklund would feel coming into a team that could be competing with the Yotes and the Hawks for being the biggest on-ice mess this season if Mike keeps this up.

Yep.

3 years at $2M per. Same exact offer.

You'll like him though, hard-working speedy heavy forechecker who's good on the draw and that never takes a shift off.

He was the Wild's best faceoff guy at the time he was delt, but wanted more opportunity and thought he should've gotten more money and turned our offer down. 🤷‍♂️

It's fair value for what he brings. It's just really odd that he eventually signed and got what Guerin initially offered him.

He shouldn’t really get opportunity here. We don’t need him at all and need space for if a rookie pushes into a spot.

You guys hired Brackket right? I think Doug Jr would be awesome for your scouting department or AGM

What’s your guys opinions on the sharks draft?? I can’t believe they didn’t take Kemell and traded out of that pick. I thought Kemell was a top 10 player/talent in this years draft. I wanted the Pens to trade up once he fell to 17.

Btw, about the Pens draft. I couldn’t hate it more than I do..lol.

Their first 1st round pick in years and they take a LHD(and a goalie in the 4th round). Literally the only two positions they have depth at in their system..lol.

I wanted Isaac Howard. And If they took Isaac Howard at 21 overall (or even acouple different players) they would become the best prospect in their system immediately. I hated their draft.

You misunderstand, that's what he thought when he turned down our offer.

Anyone with half a brain can see he's better suited to a bottom six role. Where he's really good. Besides, aside from a couple of a prospects like Eklund or Weatherby/Chmelevski who's pushing for a real roster spot this year?

If they do wind up pushing for a spot. Sturm is equally adept on the wing, so he's fairly flexible in how you deploy him.

Yeah, it's possible Judd and Billy G hire him as a scout. Otherwise our front office is pretty much set. At least, I wouldn't be surprised if we did.

He’s not gonna be demoted. One of the best minds in scouting and in the old boys club so someone will make him head of scouting or AGM

I like DW jr.

But Brackett is a very clearly a tier above him. There is no scenario where Brackett gets replaced by Jr as Director of Amateur Scouting within the Wild's organization. And all front office positions are currently filled at this time.

So unless it's as a scout/ADoAS. I don't see it happening with us.

But I could see him either landing with Arizona or Boston as a DoAS.

I think Grier wants to rebuild may be about two years late but it’s better late then never
