I'm pretty sure that Patches tore his achilles jogging after the trade to Carolina. Haven't followed the nhl too closely last few weeks with it being the Summertime. Correct me, if I'm wrong but that is what Canes fans have been saying.

I hadn’t heard that, but if it’s true then the trade makes a lot more sense. I assumed it was a hockey injury that happened while he was still with Vegas.
