Description
Lineup isn't really realistic but whatever.

Love the idea of adding some more youth to this group that can come in and play this season, a la Romanov trade. Since we're strapped on cap space and are either unwilling or unable to clear money, an approach like this might be necessary if any improvement is to be made next season, even if it isn't Vilardi.

The best teams are able to find undervalued or superfluous young talent via trade or free agency (Verhaeghe, Bunting, Marchment, Nichushkin, etc.). Isles need to start doing more of that

Big, talented C, scored well in the AHL this season but might be getting squeezed out of the Kings' future. Supposedly was some trade interest in him around the draft. What would it take to get him to Long Island?

I wouldn’t mind trading for Vilardi but I wouldn’t trade more than a 2nd. He hasn’t shown much in the NHL, would rather trade for a young player who has had good underlying numbers in a bottom 6 role on the verge of breaking out

I don't think Vilardi is available this summer, but if he had to be moved out, it would take a 1st round pick and a good-but-not-great prospect.

Bellows, both 1st round picks who could use a change.

He was moved to wing last year and spent the year in the ahl learning the position. He racked up points down there but made it clear he wasnt happy being moved from center to the wing.
He has some elite skills like puck handling, shooting, passing and finding seams in tight, and setting up down low in the offensive zone. But the coach hates him cause he is quite slow, weak on board battles, and below average in his own zone.
I doubt he will cost very much it seems like time has ran out for him here.
Kings fans are gonna freak if he leaves and puts up big points elsewhere.

I'll admit, I'm not sure. Hopefully someone can give you a better answer than me. The only line he spent over 30 minutes on with last season was with Byfield and Kupari -- two other centers, so it stands to reason he has experience with it. Good experience or bad experience, I'm not sure. Gonna look into it a bit more.

Originally, I was gonna include trading Pageau in this post. Between him, Beau, Bailey and Palms he has the largest contract, but perhaps his play style and reputation would be enough for another team to take him off our hands more readily than they would, say, Bailey which is the popular one on here. I doubt Lou makes him available, but that could free up a C spot for Vilardi and a W spot for Bailey or Bellows

That much? That's almost what you got Fiala for

Depends what kind of player you are looking for. Puljujarvi is a hard working forward with good speed. Can see him being a good two way forward as he matures but his offensive instincts and finishing abilities are pretty weak.
Vilardi is the opposite. Hes all skill. Hell thrive setting up an elite scorer or bust because he isnt a two way guy that can help in other areas of the ice.
    They are different players.

imo we need all sorts of players on the wing and have virtually no talent in those areas. i like pulju because i think it'll be a lower acquisition cost bc it seems like the oilers are actively looking to get rid of him, and IMO he's shown more at the NHL level (he's also had more time there, so that's a factor).

Vilardi is supposedly the main piece that Arizona wants for Chychrun. They're not gonna just give him away.

Minnesota had to move Fiala. They didn't have the space to extend him and the timer was counting down to the draft. They left value on the table to get the home-town prospect they wanted.
