VAN
  1. Johnson, Ryan [Reserve List]
  2. Östlund, Noah
  3. Rosén, Isak
  4. 2023 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
If buffalo is competing for a playoff spot come the TDL. I’d imagine they are and the canucks are able to get good prospects at FWD and DEF plus a pick
BUF
  1. Miller, J.T.
Additional Details:
Yea prolly not but the canucks need to bolster their prospect pool and miller is one of the best ways to do so

No one is paying that much for 1.Miller 2. A rental
Let alone Buffalo who's openly stated they wont
That's literally a 1st rounder from 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023

I don’t really see Buffalo paying for a rental even if they are in a playoff position

Buffalos team is 2 young. By the TDL even if we are competing they aren't trading 4 firsts for 1/2 a year of a player. Try another team that actually will be competing. Id say someone like Ottowa, NYR, Islanders, or someone like that is waay more realistic

Rock and hard place with Miller. Not dissimilar from CGY a year ago with Gaudreau. I think there's an appetite to get something for Miller, but also a desire to make the playoffs in a weak division. Unfortunately, they likely can't have both

If the Canucks can’t extend Miller before the trade deadline, he’s gone for sure. Management has made it very clear that they will not be losing a 99 point player for nothing

It makes all the sense in the world.

I think the Canucks will be good this year though. What if the Canucks are 2nd in the division, battling for 1st at the TDL. Rock and a hard place for sure

I think if Miller is not extending, they still move on. They quite literally said it themself. It does look like the Canucks could make the playoffs. If they don’t want to lose Miller, they will extend him which I don’t really like too much

It's just a really tough situation, because there's a ton of money to be made from making a playoff run as a Canadian team. I don't envy VAN management.

Probably one of Benning's best moves.
