Patrick Laine is younger and better than Kevin Fiala. Probably costs two firsts and a good young player/prospect at the minimum. Ofc DeBrincat was traded for a bag of blue picks and Kevin Korchinski so who the **** knows.

Also Romanov played top four minutes in Montreal and was good when he played during Montreal’s cup run. There is no reason for the Isles to target Jake Muzzin. There is never a reason to target Jake Muzzin.

Timo Meier isnt the trade target you'd think because of the structure of his contract. Im pretty sure his Qualifying offer next year is 10 million

He’s probably worth that tho lol. It’s more about the cost of acquiring him via trade.

Jarmo will do whatever he needs to to keep Laine. If it means buying someone out or trading Bjorkstrand, so be it. Someone will take either Voracek or Nyquist.

For sure. Some of the delay may be Jarmo letting Nyquist choose his destination as a courtesy to him. He’s been an integral guy here since he signed as a FA, and we’ll miss him very much.

I think he's working on Laine to get him to a reasonable contract as an effort to keep Nyquist personally. I'm pretty sure there was mutual interest in extending Nyquist on a team friendly deal before Gaudreau happened. I don't think there's any feasible path to keeping Nyquist and Voracek though.

I flat out say some of these deals are bad. I've followed Romanov since before he was even in the NHL and I love Salo. Im just trying to be realistic and base things off what has been said/how lou operates lmao
