Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Boyko, Talyn [Reserve List]
  2. 2023 6th round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Jets get a young, solid goalie prospect while Rangers get a cheap 4th line center and a Russian goalie to play with Shesterkin
2.
WPG
  1. 2023 4th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Jets offload Schmidt's contract to any team that will take him. Dallas seems likely because they'll need new defenseman if Klingberg leaves and I doubt Dallas is on Schmidt's 10 team no trade list
3.
WPG
  1. Necas, Martin [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
A Wheeler trade is needed to change the team culture. Carolina gets a vet that can play center and is fair value at 5mil, while also adding a prospect whose brother was just drafted by the Canes. Winnipeg gets a highly skilled top six forward that would benefit from a change of scenery
CAR
  1. Lucius, Chaz
  2. Wheeler, Blake ($3,250,000 retained)
4.
WPG
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. Dach, Kirby [RFA Rights]
  3. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (MTL)
  5. 2023 4th round pick (VGK)
  6. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Winnipeg gets a solid replacement for PLD with high potential and a good attitude. The draft picks aren't overpayment as Winnipeg's taking a cap dump in Byron and sending an effective bottom six winger that adds to Montreal's recent influx of Czech players
5.
WPG
  1. Severson, Damon
Additional Details:
Jets get their top-pairing right handed defenseman and sign him to an extension, maybe 7x7. New Jersey gets some decent defense prospects and another 1st round pick in a stacked draft.
NJD
  1. Kovacevic, Johnathan [RFA Rights]
  2. Stanley, Logan
  3. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
  4. 2023 5th round pick (NYR)
6.
WPG
  1. MacEwen, Zack [RFA Rights]
  2. van Riemsdyk, James
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Jets add some much needed physicality and take a cap dump + a pick in JVR who they can either keep if they're making playoffs, or retain salary and flip at the deadline for prospects/picks

Habs aint paying that for a dude who will come over in 2 years for free. If habs wanted to trade for dubois that bad they would have dealt Winni the 13th pick they got from trading Romanov and some other piece(s) instead of getting Dach.

I know, it's ludicrous, I wish some NHL managers were like these ACGM's.

That'll probably be a good pick, Florida could easily regress.
    Hullsy09 and sk540 liked this.

Assuming the Habs don't have Price for the season, they're fine. But they would have no problems moving Dvorak or Dadonov if they need to make cap room for one year.

Unless the Habs' scouts have a very different view of Dach's potential than most of the world, if they can get Dubois for Dach pretty much straight up, they'd be nuts no to. Do I love throwing in Florida's 1st pick? No, so I would make that conditional on PLD signing a long-term deal.

Can't have conditions about player signing a contract anymore. Also, if Winnipeg wanted Dach for Dubois straight up 1 for 1, i think it would have been done at the draft.

Klinger is gone. Used his cap space on Marchment and Miller. Don’t have any cap left for Schmidt after we sign JRob and Oetter
