You would have to include a first and possibly Provorov and Konecny for them to even listen to that.

I am going to touch on the Leafs deal, though I think any sneaky offer sheet would be matched by the Oilers. A fair deal for Simmons might get the Flyers James Van Reimsdyk (with an extension), Kasperi Kapanen and a 2nd rounder, sure. As for Marner, the Leafs aren't trading him, but for the Leafs to even consider dealing a core piece the Flyers would need to deal something like Simmonds, Konecky, Myers and their 2017 1st rounder. The Leafs do not say no to that deal.

I can tell you right now Marner and Kapanen are not going anywhere unless a younger young and extremely talented defencman is coming to Toronto.

Toronto worked hard I get to where they are now, there not gonna blow it for a expensive and old Simmonds, as good as he is it won't happen. (Unless Gotisbehere is involved).

Wanye Simmonds is the biggest bargain in the NHL smh. Old? Sub 30 years old is old? Said no one ever.

Okay true, but compared to Marner and Kapanen? Horrible trade.

I'm sorry but Marner and Kapanen are the future, Simmonds is great now but in four or so years he's gonna drop. Marner is a beast, and Kapanen is approaching a full time NHL job. NO WAY EVER WOULD TORONTO SACRIFICE THE FUTURE FOR SUCCES NOW.

$3M for a 30 goal scorer is expensive? Please. He's one of the best contracts in the NHL. Yes, Marner isn't going to be included in that deal, but Simmonds would immediately improve TOR and is a better option than JVR. Simmonds is easily worth Kapanen and a 2nd but I wouldn't do that if I was the Flyers - it's not enough IMO.

TO just wouldn't do that trade especially with their young guys on ELCs. Definitely would need a young defenseman going the other way happy for TO to even consider. Doubtful Draisaitl doesn't re-up with EDM and don't think Hextall would pull off acquiring him.
