Geekie most likely doesn't play in Seattle this year, Wright would be much better on a third line and why have a 4.5M center on your fourth?

Good on Seattle being there with space when someone came calling. A $4.5M 4th line center is silly - trade him for assets or have one of the young guys play down lower to get their feet wet.

Personally I don't feel like there's much point putting Wright in a bottom six role, he needs playing time to develop. So for me it's either the second line or back to the OHL. If he returns to Kingston for another year I think Wennberg slides up to the second line and Geekie fills in at center on the fourth line. Geekie can play both center and right wing and was a pleasant surprise last year, so I figure one way or another he's on the team this year.

Third liners can still get up to 18 minutes a game if handled properly and they don't have to match top six opposition .... Stop thinking we're in the NFL where everyone's ready righty now. Geekie's a pretty average skater per WHL values, no way he gets in this year with this awful motion.

Seattle's still building so they're going to prioritize developing their young players even after adding Burakovsky and Bjorkstrand. You're right that Wright could still get significant minutes on the third line, but I feel like the team will aim to give him the most playing time possible, whether it's in the NHL or OHL. I could very well end up being wrong on that though, so we'll see. As for Geekie, his skating could definitely use some work, but other areas of his game such as faceoffs and facilitating/scoring around the net are very solid. He wouldn't make it through waivers anyway, so I think they'll keep him on the NHL roster in a bottom six role. Besides, having extra center depth can't hurt.

My bad I thought it was the younger Geekie for some reasons.
