Description
I don't see too much changing at this point. Chinakov and Johnson could use some time in the minors. I hope Foudy comes into training camp ready to make a roster, but we'll see.

Olivier should be the permanent 13/14 forward. Only plays around 20 games a year to give the team a spark and knock some heads together. He better not be on the opening night 12.

I’d also swap march and Robby. Robby and kuraly were magic last year. Put those two together and let march have the more skilled players on his line.

If Johnson doesn’t make the team, I would have him as 1C on Cleveland. He and china would be amazing Down there and Johnson can learn the pro game.

Yep, looks like it, only Robinson should be 4th line and Marchenko 3rd. Also I’d put Jenner in the first line with the stars. He wins face offs like nobody’s business and is great in front of the net. He’d compliment those two really well.

I’d love to see Jarmo move Boqvist in a package for a better top pairing RHD for Werenski, but I don’t see a trade out there right now. Maybe by the deadline…

My word, that Bemstrom contract, though.

I'm not sure he has done much to justify breaking six figures. Give him a one-way deal in the $850k-$950K range.

That is, if he is even with the team next year. Guy has wasted too much of his time as a 4th liner/ scratch, when that is just clearly not his game, and never will be.

We can swap whoever, I'm sure Larsen will do it plenty in the first 5 games. But, you mean to tell me they 4th line guy they brought for energy wont play in game 1?

Well his QO is 835k, and because they haven't agreed to an extension and we have the cap space, why not 1 year at what he presumably wants. It's not as bad a contract as Gudbranson, and he can be moved at the deadling if he somehow clicks. Idk how 400k is the breaking point to "OMG HOW IS THIS CONTRACT SO BAD"

But, please publish your CBJ lineup asap.

Opening night is against Carolina so I'd lean towards no Olivier. Game 2 is against Tampa though so I'd expect him to debut there.

I think he’s there not as an energy guy. But as a guy who plays with his fists and keeps guys accountable. Shouldn’t play every day. If they wanted an energy guy they have one in danforth. They got Oliver for protection.

Ok, take it easy and don’t get snippy - this is what ACGMs are.

Your lineup is fine, save Bems, and probably Bean. That’s $3.5M in healthy scratches. We just traded Oliver Bjorkstrand for pennies to get cap compliant, so if that much money is sitting in the press-box come opening night, I would be quite upset.

The bigger question I ask is - why even bring Bems back in the first place? His game is built around scoring, he isn’t that big, his game isn’t centered around defense and never has been, despite Torts and Larsen consistently keeping him in the bottom six the past 2+ seasons. He’s been jumped in the lineup, and with Johnson and Marchenko in the fold, Foudy likely ready for playing time - his climb up is just getting harder.

You gave him $1.2M to sit on the bench as a 13th F. He’s an RFA, doesn’t have trade value, and I believe has missed his window to announce a return to Europe. I have trouble imagining the case he is making to break six figures.
