CBJ Decline. No need to overpay for Hayes. A 3rd in 2024 alone is enough for Hayes with 30% retained.

Yeah have to agree, CBJ pass easily. They're especially not taking back an additional 2million in something like this.

CBJ may do that but I'd think you may be sending back a late draft pick too. maybe a 5th rounder in this years draft

I think the most Philadelphia gets out of CBJ is either a fringe guy like Peeke or Blankenburg OR a 3rd rounder. I don't think it would be this years 3rd though.

Yeah I'd love to get Graves but I bet he gets signed by a contender. DeHaan too but I bet he stays.
As for the lines, it's just a weird glut. I'd probably switch Robinson and Chinakov but Robinson's speed with Tex intrigues me. Jenner can play anywhere so once someone goes down he'll be right back to the 1st line haha.

It would probably take Chicagos own 1st rounder and then either Tampa Bay's or Chicagos next year 1st rounder too. No way they're dropping back to not even pick in the top 3.

Leafs get cap compliant
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluejackets2000</b></div><div>Tex is better than Kerfoot. So just keep tex.
Our centers will continue to develop, probably more quickly now that we have another playmaking winger (like Panarin) in gaudreau. He will have very good assist numbers just like Voracek did. That is why I like having Gaudreau and Voracek on different lines. Keep Laine with Voracek and place either Kent Johnson or Tex on the other wing with Gaudreau.</div></div>
Oh I know, I'm just sick of seeing Toronto fans dump Kerfoot off to us with the CBJ sending back a massive return.

That's an idiotic comment. Tex is an RFA, cap friendly and a very skilled player. Kerfoot is a dud, cost 3.5 against the cap and will be lucky to make league minimum on his next contract.

Tex on the 4th line? Marchenko on the 2nd on his off wing? Gudbranson on the 1st pair instead of peeke who showed he was more than capable of playing with Z. This is a pretty rough mock up.

CBJ Opening Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dopplsan</b></div><div>My word, that Bemstrom contract, though.
I'm not sure he has done much to justify breaking six figures. Give him a one-way deal in the $850k-$950K range.
That is, if he is even with the team next year. Guy has wasted too much of his time as a 4th liner/ scratch, when that is just clearly not his game, and never will be.</div></div>
Well his QO is 835k, and because they haven't agreed to an extension and we have the cap space, why not 1 year at what he presumably wants. It's not as bad a contract as Gudbranson, and he can be moved at the deadling if he somehow clicks. Idk how 400k is the breaking point to "OMG HOW IS THIS CONTRACT SO BAD"
But, please publish your CBJ lineup asap.

I’d also swap march and Robby. Robby and kuraly were magic last year. Put those two together and let march have the more skilled players on his line.</div></div>
We can swap whoever, I'm sure Larsen will do it plenty in the first 5 games. But, you mean to tell me they 4th line guy they brought for energy wont play in game 1?

Chych
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackAce91</b></div><div>You're overvaluing Nyquist and Bjorkstrand heavily. Neither is getting you a first. Like I said, It's a first and a couple mid-draft picks at most. Chychrun is a defenseman who could potentially win the Norris one day or at least be in the running for it consistently, he is on an insanely good contract for the next couple years, and he is young still. Anybody who wants him is offering up a first, a high-level prospect, and a roster player.
If CBJ wants him, it's likely a first, one of Nyquist/Bjorkstrand, and Marchenko/Mateychuk. Maybe even throwing in a 2nd or Texier too. Chychrun is highly vauable and is going to be a #1 defenseman for most teams. He may even have an edge over Werenski, since Chychrun is as good as Werenski, if not better, at offense and much better at D than Werenski.</div></div>
Bjorkstrand is worth so much more than you think. 2 first at minimum alone. Super sniper and team friendly contract. If you don't think he's worth that, I want what you're smoking. However, I'd never want Chychrun on the cbj. He's badly overvalued right now due to the market and a trade like that would backfire. It's not like Jarmo to do. Chychrun is truly worth a 1st, top prospect and fringe prospect, at more.

CBJ aren't doing that. The value isn't even close. It could be 6&12 for New jersey's 2, 37 and 75. That's pretty even, and NJ has a slight edge still.

What a joke. CBJ aren't giving up their pick unless it's a young guy that can play in the top 6. Our defense needs improved, but Putrid Petry doesn't do that, and he's worth a 7th rounder at best. His contract hinders the CBJ. An appriate trade is Petry, Suzuki, MTL 2nd for the 12th overall pick.

As another CBJ fan I disagree. Although I think in this scenario I’d rather have Chayka than Chibrakov, I fully support Edvinssom over Eklund. Give me the steady D man that can help our goalies. We have no D prospect depth…

I'm not sure you're understanding that a 32 year old, expensive goalie with worse career numbers isn't better than a 27 year old, cost controlled goalie who has thrived in a role as a true starter. Mike Smith is 40 and Korpi can be the Oilers goalie of the future.
