Kadri’s contract has the potential to be one of the worst in NHL history and I’m all for it. Hopefully kadri puts up less than 50 pts next season, I’d like to see how media /fans react

Dobson also declines that contract

He’s still not great defensively. For his first deal post ELC this is pretty in line with what cap strapped teams do

Not angry, just what I want to see happen. If the isles are going to get older and slower then they deserve to miss the playoffs. I’d rather the team fail than enter a period of mediocrity

No to Gostisbehere, play Salo and let him develop.

A bridge deal for Dobson is right at ~$4.5M.

Lou is notorious for not paying young players too early, I cant see Dobson taking a paycut

Isles already pretty slow and Kadri is a good skater. His offense exploded when he quit pushing & fighting & going for big hits. He's basically a new player now, so I think his new deal ages well.

I don’t think his new deal will age well, I’d be surprised if he hits 50 pts next season. He will not be playing with superstars on Long Island

He might hit 50 next year, and even the year after that, but there is no way he keeps up for the rest of that deal. He’s a good character guy though so could earn his salary in other ways. Still, 6x7.5 is a bad idea for anyone.

Just fans speculating. Lou is notorious for having players signed and not announcing till Sept.1. Fans are speculating you are not hearing anything on Kadri for this reason.

Even in Lou's system, he'll be fine. Lou signed him to his last deal, and he'd have to be very confident signing again.

Just speculation because of how quiet it has been on his front. We'll know for sure in October when they skate out on opening night.

....and I think rate we must have Klingberg too. (/ducks)

All this is true - also, on the Canucks Athletic podcast their beat writer Thomas Drance was speculating where JT Miller could end up and said the Islanders aren’t in play anymore because Kadri’s deal is “in the drawer” hence the name of the armchair. But yes, it’s all speculation until it isn’t

I disagree , he won’t have the same QOT that he did in Colorado, I won’t be surprised if he is a replacement level forward next season.

The isles have enough character guys lol -there is no way to justify paying him more than 3-4 mill. I think it could go down as one of the worst signings in NHL history

Agreed. He’s worth minimum 5 mill on a bridge. If isles won’t give him what he’s worth hopefully a team has the balls to OS him

Prior to the last season Kadri averaged around 50 pts per season. He turns 32 next season, I guess you know nothing about aging curves. I remember when Loui Ericsson was considered a good signing.
