They still have too many defensemen. I think they should move POJ for a forward.

I feel like were down to 4 options.
1) Do nothing and just rock with 2 extras instead of 3.
2) Trade Dumo, which gives Smith a full-time position. You can use that cap to maybe add someone else.
3) Trade Blueger, which allows you to use that cap to bring in Larsson as a replacement.
4) Trade POJ + roster player for an upgrade at forward.

Nothing much will happen aside from all waiver-exempt players will be sent down: Smith and DOC. Archibald will probably be sent down as well and they'll be compliant.

This is basically the Pens team until the deadline.

I feel out of the defenseman you could try to move one of Dumo, MP, and POJ for a forward. Try to move Zucker (Heinen makes him much more expendable to move and replace with someone outside the organization) and lastly you could move Blueger and sign Larsson cheap or run Poehling as the 4C with DOC and McGinn. Just some ideas but they def have another trade in store as I believe they’re over the cap currently now.

Overall I like the team more than last years, and I think we have a great D, but I would sitll make 1-2 moves if I were Hextall.

- Personally I wouldn't move Dumo or Pettersson at this point, I feel that would bring our defense a step down. Dumo is perfect for Letang and Pettersson for Petrey. This gives them elite depth at D.
- I think out of all the D POJ and Ruhwedle are two I could see going. POJ packaged in a trade for a forward, or Ruhwedle to clear up cap.
- I love Bluger, but could see him being traded. Dosen't seem like Hextall values him as much, especially as a RFA.
- I would try hard to trade Zucker. Now that we have Heinen we have another player who can step up to second line if need be. 5 mil in cap would be enough to sign another great winger too.
- Some players I have my eyes on in trades or signings: Milano, Larsson, Christian Fischer, Tanev, Barbashev, Dube, Mangiapane or Necas (both unlikely), Crouse

Fixing the roster:
1.) Send down: Archibald, Claigula, Smith, the third goalie
2.) Switch Poe and McGinn
3.) Bring up Zhorna for 4th line RW
4.) Scratch the Ruw, Fried and Oconnor
5.) Trade McGinn retaining 1MM in salary OR buy out McGinn.
