Bear is fine, but he's not the kind of player the Sens need in the top 4. Might as well let JBD, Thomson and Brannstrom fight it out for the spot at that point.

This trade would only add to an off season of larceny. I was a bit skeptical about any trades for Brannstrom before, but this would be a good trade. Carolina would probably have to add a 4th or something like that to make it even.

Damn, Anaheim wishes you made this deal yesterday.

In order to take this deal we would need to ship Shattenkirk or Klingberg out with retention early.

We can't sit any of our right D. Klingberg and Shattenkirk need the ice time to show their stats to get flipped this TDL, and Drysdale needs the ice time to develop.

More giving anahiem zaitsev for the cap, would not expect any team that’s not Az or Chi to play him… or any other team purposely trying to loose

if they decide to just dump zaitsev and not bring anyone in, I wouldn’t like branny in that top 4 role as his game does not suit playing with chabby or sanderson. I think lassi would be the best option as from the short sample size they both had lassi just looked more comfortable.

Both teams run away with this like crazy and say "thank you Pierre, it was great to deal with you!"

1) Bear was traded for Warren Foegele one year ago, I doubt he's worth two 2nds now

Yes Brannstrom is still easily a 2nd, he was 22 y/o this past season, an age most D-men don't even play in the NHL yet.

2) Then, based on the other "dump trades", taking on Zaitsev for two 2nds and a 4th is highway robbery, particularly since he is only owed 7 M$ for 2 years.

A no brainer for a non cap space team like the Ducks

I'm not saying we wouldn't take it, but we will have a hole at RD next season and I don't know how it would go benching him this year only to play him the next. OP Probably calls Arizona first to get a lower price and a place he will play. Arizona is less likely to be on NTC lists as well due to lower taxes.
