I think it is a more than fair deal (assuming there is a reason I have never heard of Gawanke) but I still doubt Winnipeg will retain on two years of Wheeler. Maybe throw in Kaut?

Think the value is there with having to retain, although I never know about these within-division trades how realistic they are. I think the above roster repeats no doubt

WPG is reportedly not willing to retain on Wheeler, which has unsurprisingly killed any interest.

If they were willing to eat 50% it would be A LOT more doable although I'm not sure COL would be the team to go for it given wing is not a need for them but other teams would be down.

I've always been a wheeler fan but i don't know if we'd be able to handle 4 mil next year is the real thing. This year would be excellent but next year we'd be in cap hell

I like the deal from both sides. Unfortunately Chevy won’t retain on wheeler. God I’D be happy to see this trade happen, especially if COL could get wheeler his cup.

I’d like to see this deal happen, but I have zero interest if Wheeler ever gets a Cup

He’s done a lot for Winnipeg and was a great person and great role model for the community. Do I dislike him now? Sure. But I still would be happy to see the guy get a cup for what he did for the city.
