I like the looks of this. The only thing that hurts me to see, is Gawanke going to COL. The guys going to be a good NHL player and it’s sad because the jets are just going to give him away for nothing as he’ll probably be claimed on waivers.

From NY’s perspective that’s a tremendous overpay. It took two seconds to get rid of Ladd and a conditional 3rd.
Adding Logan Stanley and Mikhail Berdin who are worth at best a third won’t make this deal better for them. Isles decline and save the draft picks for a bigger deal.

I love the Andrew Ladd asking price on this deal. If Bailey is a cap dump nobody seems too upset about adding him.
It’s almost like they want to get a productive player for picks!!!

The odds of Blake Wheeler trade being accepted by COL are about the same as me playing 2C. Why would COL do this trade, they don’t need expensive old top 6 wingers.

I wouldn’t mind adding Bailey if jets had extra cap space. I agree that this is too much going to Winnipeg.

“Josh Bailey is a cap dump”

“Wheeler at 50% retained is worth Compher, a first and a second”

Which statement is more likely to be false?

Most guys who get cap dumped just can’t play anymore. There’s a reason Philly didn’t move a first to trade JVR. By the deadline he might have value anyway.

Dillon is worth at most two thirds, and I doubt you get THAT for him. Oliver Bjorkstrand, a really good young player with a bright future ahead of him and four years' term on his contract, got a third and a fourth.

A 100% Wheeler. Bailey produced last season at pretty much what he has. NYI got burned a little by him having a 71pt season in a contract year but he isn’t cap dump, that’s the convenient answer on CF, hell it gets said more than hello.

I only agree he might have no value cause of Pacioretty and Bjorkstrand. That I have no beef with. But if you asked me what I would deal to get rid of him the answer is probably nothing lol.

His playoff production has made up for most of the contract concerns. He’s been clutch for them in the playoffs. Really the only reason Josh Bailey’s name should even be in trade rumors is so they motivate him to shoot more lol. He somehow shot 16% last year but took like 74 shots lmao.

If Lou had to get rid of ladd this summer and not last, with two years left on the contract, i truly wonder what the asking price would be. At least a first. This is why we can’t say that Bailey is getting the Ladd treatment. Prices went up across the board.

Did they go up? Or r we basing this on the unsubstantiated JVR rumors?

JVR rumors + Oliver trade. Quality sources reported JVR first round pick rumors were true though.
