I might do bailey for Schmidt one for one. Isles aren’t gonna give up a starting caliber goalie to do it tho.

Logan Stanley is no longer on his ELC yet has only 95 games in the NHL on his resume. Drew Helleson just signed his ELC and has all three years left on it. I can't see us trading Helleson for Stanley one-for-one, let alone adding a second-round pick.

We might invest one of our 2023 thirds in him, though.

I would strongly consider that as LAK or Anaheim. They need size on the left side.

I've always wanted the Jets to target Garland...wonder what he would cost.

I thought that the point was to dump cap to sign Kadri so Varly was just a capdump. I'm not sure that trade makes sense for you just Schmidt for Bailey but I would do that if it did. You actually take on cap in that deal so I don't see how it accomplishes the Kadri thing but from the Jets point of view I would do it.

I meant without Kadri the value is fair. But using Varly to dump bailey when you have to take back Schmidt makes no sense.

Someone will get hurt or someone will decide they need to add a middle six forward. If Lou really has a deal with Kadri there r other ways to create cap space.

Wonder if they'd have any interest in DeMelo, I'd take back a Dickinson or Poolman to make it work if necessary.
