i like KJ a lot but roslovic is meh as a piece and then it's just a second round pick and the isles are giving up a third. it's a bit light on value there even with KJ as the headliner

Probs a little light IMO. Take out the 3rd and 2nd and maybe add our 2023 1st with protection? Even with that we may need to add a bit more, like a LHD prospect.

We would also have to pay to ship out Voracek next off season which will cost a ton so take that into consideration when seeing if we can go after Barzal

A little light for Barzal but not something you hang the phone up on right away. Isles shouldn't trade Barzal, plus if he would put pen to paper on that deal NYI should sign him themselves

Need to add a little more but this is the general idea of what a Barzal trade would take. Replace the 2nd with your first and you can keep the 3rd as well maybe isles add a 5th/6th in 2024

If you swap Roslovic for Texier, would that be a better deal?

Fair point… why TF did we sign Gudbranson to such a massive cap hit?

Is there a way that we could send Voracek to somewhere that needs to teach the cap floor, and that’s them immediately send him back after they retain cap space.

Like
To CBJ: a 7th round pick
To Seattle: Voracek and a 3rd
The next day:
To CBJ: Voracek at 50% retained
To Seattle: a 7th

This could be highly illegal but idk

I would want a 1st round pick and another quality prospect. I don’t think either roster player would do it for me. Barzal aside: do I prefer Texier to Roslovic? Probably yeah. But it’s not a significant difference for me

Yes, that's literally cap circumvention and it is illegal.

Barzal is one of my favorite players in the league but no, I would not make this trade. Not KJ (the ideal would be to have him, Gaudreau, AND Barzal on one team, not trade him FOR Barzal). These two teams just don't line up well as trading partners.
