Why does Bob waive?

Florida. Better team.

Better tax haven.

I mean Vegas isn’t a horrible place to go to… also he doesn’t have pressure of being pushed into a backup type role that florida will want him to have with knight being good

We have the same taxes lol. Doesn’t matter not sure why vegas does this. Giving up Hague in the deal too? No thanks

Neither state has personal income tax. Fla sales tax is lower than Nevada.

Thompson arguably may cause the same situation. Was on fire similar to Oettinger at the end of last season

The tax situation and the quality of roster is similar even if you think Florida is better in both cases (there is an argument to be had for a split or just a difference in taxes).

The reason for him to waive is securing the starter position. He has a better chance at ending up as Knight's backup vs Thompson's in the next couple of years.

Still a better chance at him being Knight's back up though vs Thompson's. Knight is more developed and in his last ELC year while Thompson still has 3.

So by eating half of bob your just essentially paying lehner 10 million dollars and he's hurt but I guess he only has 3 years left and not 4

Ya, but…he was an undrafted free agent that was never a huge prospect. How often have we seen guys like that come up have a blaze of glory then crash back to reality.

He looked good but i’m not ready to rely on him to be the guy if i’m a GM.

All true.

Other factors as well. Tight Russian player community between Fla and TB that hang out together, train in the offseason. There is the beach.

You never know what’s in a players head, what makes him happy, the home life, etc.

Knight is certainly a threat. Especially with the cap.

Celine Dion. Carrie Underwood. Siegfried and Roy. Well, maybe not. Fewer flying insects and better buffets.

I was actually thinking of trying to work that in. Also our snakes announce themselves (rattlers) and Florida's sneak up on you (water moccasins). Maybe something about now that Lake Mead is practically dry, you can only drown in a swimming pool . . .

Russian goalies especially, seem to seek camaraderie among their countrymen, and it's kind of important since goalies are pretty much isolated in a sense from the rest of the team, but like you said we never know what's going on in a player's head.

First, they save 5 mil this year Bc of LTIR, second it’s 3 years versus 4 and he also has less trade protection than Bob. Hes also a better bet at splitting duties for the time being
