Huge. I can understand a bit of it for forwards. But D is interesting. We have witnessed a lot of D men break out offensively quite young and become nothing. See Shane Gotstobehere for example. Longevity is what I look for in a D man. A force in both ends. I would be so scared to draft a D man 1st to 5th overall vs a Centre or wing for this very reason.

Most people wouldn't realize, but he had only four fewer even strength goals than Makar last season, while playing about 60 fewer minutes. Dude has become an absolute two-way horse the last two seasons.

Devon Toews should be somewhere on here. A lot of folks think he's just boosted by Makar. That's true to a point of course, but he's really stinking good on his own.

Faulk is one of the most underrated defensemen. Play him in any situation and he is solid. Great 2 way dman.
