Lou is too busy hibernating to make a terrible trade like that

He got a call and got startled and he said yes when he answered. He just doesn't know it yet.

Price's long term Goalie Coach and Friend Stephane Waite said he'll be ready for the start of the season
Rumor even going around VGK is interested in a deal for Price likely using it to purge their roster of Karlsson and Martinez's contracts

I dont believe the rumors but my point is if there wasnt a belief he was healthy and ready there would be no talks outside dumping his contract for LTIR purposes

Can someone walk me through this Monahan thing?

Why?

I get obtaining assets, but who is Montreal moving out to accommodate a guy who can barely skate at this point over $6M to play on the third line? He's not an asset that can be flipped, unless someone has to hit the floor, but then why wouldn't Calgary just broker that deal directly?

Why would Lou do that? Other than hurrhurr he's old hurrhurr.

Why would he be desperate? Try doing an analysis that isn't posting your L's online.

Lou added a top 4 LD that is only 22 years old. Did not give out a bad contract to a 32 year old center, and did not trade a 1st to move a player to make that signing.

The offseason was not great, but it is far from terrible.

Steph Waite only want to stay relevant - he is not on the inside.

Well... NJD and ARI did the same - so the jury is still out on this one.

Wright had major Yakupov and Nolan Patrick vibes...

We'll see in 3 years.

Arizona made the wrong choice , NJ can afford to pass on him for an elite defenseman. They already have a franchise center, MTL does not. You can't win without a 1C In this league. Suzuki and Dach do not have 1C upside

Wright looks like he can be Bergeron lite

He's literally as Credible as they come.
Whether you like him or not is another debate.
He's Carey Price's Friend , Price confirmed this after he was let go by MTL
Price wasnt happy but said its not like he wont see him anymore their wives are friends lol

Check it out im sure its still up on MTL's official site somewhere
I always watch the player interviews on there as you learn a lot of useless facts media doesnt deem news worthy(rightfully so , its not)

Waite's biggest issue was he ignored every goalie in MTL that wasnt Carey Price
Did the same thing in CHI leading to a rift and a change as Crawford era began in net.
He's more of a Goalie Trainer then Coach IMO for that reason

See i agreed right up until you drug Suzuki into this

Suzuki under 3 differnt coaches was uneffected continually progressing his production rate
More important he doesnt need to be the best All Star 1C in the league to win in the playoffs
Given MTL was allergic to the playoffs before he arrived its clear he's a leader MTL rally's behind.
But last year's performance was by far his most impressive as outside Wideman he was the only player to never stop skating for Ducharme.
He Produced even if he had to do it all himself (and he did some nights)

Think of it this way
Its he a Phil Espisito who doubled MTL's top Center's production back in the day with 130-150 pts? nope
Jean Beliveau didnt need to be either to win all those many Cups that Espisito didnt .

How is getting Romanov a "terrible offseason?" He didn't get Gaudreau but so what? And Kadri would have been an overpay for a 32-year-old. You're just trolling for the sake of trolling. Have fun in your basement, troll.

I think we now know he was trying to be an ass. It's not perfect but the moves you don't make (like overpaying for Kadri) sometimes turn out to be the better option. Let's go ask Tavares how things turned out...
