I like Batherson a lot............. but he's not Mitch Marner.

I would consider Nylander in this deal though...........Which would still give the Sens an offensive upside.

Marner is a Very Good Player but I’d definitely keep Batherson and his Cap Hit and use the Cap Savings and 1st round pick elsewhere. OTT needs to improve their Defence first and foremost. Pursue Chychrun or a CGY or BOS Defensemen. Noah Hanifin for Drake Batherson!? Who adds!?

Plus who else would OTT have to move out to make the Cap Space to afford Marner!?

He’s not marner but he’s definitely better and would give Ottawa a massive upgrade

Drake has twice the term, and is millions cheaper.

The 10 less points per year he puts up dont make Drake the less desireable piece, not when you balance it against the price/term factors.

If Drake was on TO playing with AM34 and JT for the last 3 seasons, he would put up the same numbers Willy puts up

Sens give up a great value contract and a 1st AND are unable to keep DeBrincat as a result of this deal.
