I love how you just say look at the rest. You dont have any specifics to point to so its just the rest.

please look at the players drafted in 2016 and 2017 that arent named matthews and liljegren and tell me if they have made any impact what so ever, no, awful drafting

What bailey trade?
And oh speaking of tavares snows biggest failure as gm. Worse than the 1 playoff series win, worse than the ladd signing was losing tavares. Its one thing to lose someone like gaudreau when youre hunting for a cup. Its another to not trade JT when youre way out of it. If JT gets traded we probably have a cup by now.

I meant bailey signing my bad

Garth allegedly wanted to trade Tavares. Also it’s undeniable Garth snow drafted most of the guys Lou won with lol.

Of course he did. Lou was winning in his 2nd and 3rd year here not enough time for his draft picks to make an impact and garth was here for the decade before that. And the fact that lou won with the same players that garth couldnt just looks better for lou

Or it’s about Trotz and not Lou. Garth was thrown into the fire because of the fact nobody else would sign the DP contract. He did ok considering that.

The loss of JT will forever destroy any credit snow might deserve. But add on the ladd signing along with striking out on 3 5oa picks. He had 4 top 5 picks and only hit on 1 of them (tavares) which isnt a surprise considering 1oa is very rarely a bust. Theres only been 1 real bust at 1oa since JT (yakupov).

Neiderreiter and Strome are real players. You can’t complain about that.

Garth had his big hits but he also had his big misses. But the fact that he was there for 12 years and has 1 playoff series win to his name says a lot.

He didn’t have a lot of spending power but I agree with you.

Um yes i sure can. Nino became clutter and eamon mcadam and strome became eberle. So in exchange for 3 top 5 picks they come out with eberle and clutter. Sorry but thats a terrible job.

Who cares, some other team developed them. Should jim nill get credit for nichushkin? No he should be criticized for using a top 10 pick on a player who didnt bring them any value (whether on the ice or in a trade).

I guess. I liked Niederreiter before the deal tho.

I mean ok sure whatever floats your boat but his career NYI line reads
64gp, 2g 1a 3p. He played 55 games his 2nd season and had just a single goal and not 1 assist.
Just an interesting player to like thats all

I mean he wasn’t during the isles back to back ECF runs. Doesn’t really make sense to argue against that.

An Isles team that straight up overachieved in comparison to how good their roster is had a player playing in the top 4 that shouldn't have been? Where was that Isles ECF roster last year? I get goalscoring is the Isles weakness, but defense isn't a strength. Sorokin is a strength. Varlamov is a strength. Pulock and Pelech are a strength. Barzal at times is a strength. The rest of the roster? Not so much

You can’t fake your way to the ECF. Even if it’s time to rebuild this team has valuable pieces left. That defense had Leddy and Toews at one point. Romanov looks like a good add. Doesn’t mean Mayfield isn’t good tho lol.

Sure you can. Montreal faked their way to the cup final.

Mayfield is a 3rd pairing guy on a playoff team. That's the issue. He's a very good 3rd pairing guy, I'm not taking anything away from him, but he's a lot like Trevor van Riemsdyk. Very good in a 3rd pairring role, can play top 4 in a pinch, but shouldn't really.
