Why trade assets especially 2 first round picks for Dubois when habs can get him for free in 2 years? Makes no sense. They aren't even competitive right now at all. He's not even that good, but he gets the quebecois bias like Drouin when they first traded for him.

likely something similar to this but i am speaking into existence Florida pulling a 2020 SJS and we end up with a Stutzle/Sanderson situation and we get some combo of Bedard/Michkov/Fantilli/Dvorsky/Yager/Benson/Stramel/Carlsson/Allen

It’s a very real possibility Florida misses the playoffs. Not enough ppl are talking about this. They’re last years vegas but the lineup looks even worse

im not expecting it to happen but its something i can see happening for sure, the Atlantic got better and they did not, Duclair out for the first half and their d-core is noticeably worse...the other thing is what do they have in the pipeline to trade if they want to get better at the TDL?

It’s almost a given Ottawa will acquire a Dman either at the start of the season or at the deadline and they will be better than Florida.

I’m not a fan of the Florida team at all

Even as a rival fan, I think they’re on the right track. They do need high end Dmen tho, a future starting goalie and players that don’t fold under pressure in the Bell Centre and when getting criticized by fans

I def wouldn’t be shocked . Probably doesn’t want to ruin his numbers too in a rebuild .

The mid and late firsts are nice, but the Jets likely opt for quality prospects and a first next summer.

Yeah I misread at first, I thought it was now. I still think the Jets look for quality prospects and a first next year, but I guess it will depend on how this year goes.

Every time I see an ACGM featuring a trade of Sam Girard to Montreal, I see a chorus of "We don't need him because we have Joel Edmundson" from Habs fans, despite the difference in term (five years vs two) and age (five years).

Where did I say the habs will get him for free? I said it makes absolutely no sense to trade assets for him. Not signing Dubois in 2 years would be even better for the habs.
