No from Winnipeg. They have no need for any LD.

Miller isn’t going to sign for that.

And Severson definitely doesn’t sign for that

You mean Severson doesn't want to sign for almost $3M less than he'll probably get? lol

He’s most likely not getting anything more then 6.5 but yeah, he’s not taking 4.5

Agreed. He'd just be put on waivers after training camp.

Ya think? RHD's are always a much bigger commodity than most positions. Personally I think he will see closer $7M. I'm sure it will come down to term though.

Wonder which gets more next offseason, Klingberg or Severson?

I based the Miller deal on Kadri's and built out from there. He's the closest comparable in terms of player vs what the current market seems willing to bear on players like Miller and Kadri.

What kind of range do you think is realistic for Severson?

I won't pretend that I know what WPG needs at the moment, I've just liked Harkins for a while and Brisebois reminds me too much of Jim Benning and how he justified moving 2nd round picks because you could still get a guy like Bweezebwah in the third round.

Miller will use Kadri as a comparable but he'll want more than Kadri got. He's 1.5 years younger, got 12 more points this last year and 62 more points over the last 3 years. Rumors have him asking for 9 mil plus. Considering what Gaudreau and Huberdeau got he may be asking for more than 10 mil, they're both wingers he's a center (generally considered the more valuable position) and they both scored exactly 16 more points than his 99 points, or ~16% more points.

I'm not saying Miller is worth 9 or 10 million or that he'll get that much, just that will be his argument during contract negotiations.

Miller is going to need more then what Kadri got. I imagine Severson comes in anywhere from 5.5-6.5
