Islanders get what they want.
Habs get safe risk free investments.
Canucks get a late first and 4 worthless players for JT whose worth more than double that right now, Schenn whose not worthless and a prospect they put a lot of time into.

You wanna try that again?

I based the trade starting off of this article:

Mayfield is do for a raise as they said so that doesn't do us many favors. He's also turning 30 which doesn't really fit the window for Vancouver long term. We're not one year away, we're like three.

Also the article grazing the "it could be a first from another team" like that's nbd is crazy. If NYI can acquire a lottery teams first then we can talk. That pick is a low to mid 20's expected and has middling value.

Schenn is not leaving Vancouver for a rental which Mayfield might be. Schenn is a rent to own in Vancouver. If he leaves it will be in a package deal that includes term coming back or real prospects. not mid 20's AHL vets.

I know it's not reasonable to request him at all but if we move Miller and NYI goes for it this season you can have Schenn too and we'll take the weaker pick.

But we want Dobson.

Yea I have no real investment in this trade, just read the article and thought if that's really what it would take then this could be an interesting scenario.

Can appreciate your point of view on this though

No 2023 1st, no top prospect, no good young roster player. Canucks pass very easily

Really good trade but i think that van wouldn’t want to give up schenn which wouldn’t hinder the trade that much and i also think that dickinson to Montreal with a 3rd or 4th would make can want to do this more because of cap relief

That return is terrible for Miller. I know that the market for scoring forwards is depressed right now, but if Allvin agrees to that trade he may as well start packing up his things the moment he puts his phone down.
