Kerfoot is a good fit for the Jets. I have him getting a 4th what with the high price for moving salary and GM's knowing what the Leafs cap situation is.

Is Heinola not expected to start in the NHL?

I like the Kerfoot fit.
My lines would be…

Connor - Dubois - Perfetti
Ehlers - Scheifele - Wheeler
Kerfoot - Lowery - Appleton
Harkins - Barron - Reichel

Dillon - Pionk
Morrissey - Schmidt
Samberg - DeMelo

Hellebuyck - Rittich

He would but with Samberg around…
It’s unlikely.

My only problem is that 4th line is going to be tied to the bench, possibly get to these lines late in the game, but would want to try to get some of those 4th liners some opportunities higher. I’m not completely sold on perfetti for top line minutes for 82, might need to insulate his minutes a little til he proves he can stay healthy. Solid squad, hopefully can stay hungry and healthy.

He's waiver exempt and the Jets have a lot of dmen under contract so Heinola is likely AHL bound, his trade request is bound to hit Chevys desk fairly soon if it hasn't already.

I think that Heinola still has a chance to beat out Samberg for the spot but I feel like Bowness would probably favour Samberg more. I definitely want Heinola to get playing time but I don’t expect the Jets to trade Dillon to make room for him, even though that wouldn’t be a terrible idea.

It’s going to be very embarrassing when the trade request does come. This kids shown what he can do and his been whipped to death for making small mistakes. Hopefully Bowness is legit in saying they’re going with the youth. There’s got to be a domino that’ll fall that allows the team to move out 1-2 dman. Injury or teams wanting depth perhaps.

Also I think this team finishes 5th in the central. They cannot compete with COL or STL. Minnesota probably is just as good as they were last year maybe a bit worse. NSH will be good again too. Their best bet is to beat out bones’ old team for 4th but I think oettinger is going to have himself a year.

Colorado remains 1st, but not as run away and hide, st.louis takes a step back to third or 4th, Minnesota stays in third or 4th, coyotes/Blackhawks raise to the cellar. Leaving Dallas or Winnipeg at 2nd and 5th. I think there’s going to be a jumbled mess from 2/5, jets are a legit bounce back type squad as long as bones can get them all on the same page, just believe that scheifele/Dubois/helly need to be all hungry positive and gunning for a new contracts, possibly a year early for the contract year effort, but writing on the wall next summer that there has to be either contracts or trades, so possibly a big year and sell high. But also i should be sharing some of the grass I am smoking lol. Cheers to a month away to a new season.

I wanna see David Gustafsson get a shot as a regular. Toniato is a decent PK and checker

Agreed. Get rid of Dillon and his contact. Would have said DeMelo but he has a NTC.

I do to. I think that’s what they start with. I like Totinato but don’t think he’s starts

Samberg can be the younger/cheaper Dillon and the jets could take on a bigger salary to fill in the top 9 F if he's gone
