I still think Winnipeg is the ideal trading partner for Kerfoot.

I don't think the leafs are trading Holl. Kerfoot will be gone and Holl is a more valuable guy with no Sandin signed. Benn and Mete are 8 and 9 on the depth chart and hopefully stay there.

I suspect the hold up is that Toronto thinks Holl has more value than the potential trade partners. As opening night gets closer, and if Toronto continues to sit over the cap, a deal will get done for much less than what Toronto has been asking for. Problem for Toronto is if they wait too long, all teams with excess cap will have traded it away to the dozen other teams with the same cap issues as the Leafs.

I think the wait is on Sandin. Why move Holl right now if you're the leafs? Then either Mete or Benn are playing as the 6th D. Let Sandin wait and get him closer to what you want while you roll your 6 from last year until then
