I understand why Barrie might have low value. But to trade give up futures for a LHD....which is a position of plenty of options. I don't know.

Should be enough. Anyone who says otherwise is smoking some of that good good.

Habs pass unless Oils add a 1st

Coyotes want the equivalent of 4 1st round picks for Chychrun. If they don't get it they're quite happy keeping him. This is likely why he hasn't been traded. They don't HAVE to trade him.

Chychrun is 24 years old with 3 years left on his contract at 4.6 mil AAV. Bargain central.

Rumoured asking price for Ottawa was Zaitzev, high end prospect and two Firsts, so it'd definitely get done. Barrie has more value than Zaitzev so maybe Barrie, Broberg a First and a Conditional 2nd that turns into a first, or a deal involving Lavoie or Samorukov with the two firsts

He also isn't a very good defender. Oilers pass - and, apparently, every other team in the league too.

I wouldn't pay that price for Chychrun. I think he's good but overrated. But apparently the Coyotes are happy to keep him. There will be no lowball bargain deal here. I thought LA would trade for him but that never happened.

Also don’t think oilers or any team should offer this much in a package. Chych is good but a lot of the value comes from his contract. On ice he’s been inconsistent (injuries and awful team contribute to that but still something to think about).
