Description

I like Hoglander a lot, but VAN's forward depth is great and they need to upgrade the RHD, even if Lundqvist isn't necessarily the 'style' of Dman they might be looking for. Hogs is comfortable playing either wing, allowing some lineup flexibility for NYR.

I added Reaves and Dermott to even out the deal positionally, with a pick swap to even out the overall value. Dermott is a useful depth D that is comfortable on either side of the ice; a solid fill-in for injuries or a decent 3LD if Jones isn't ready for full-time duty. Reaves is more of a cap dump at this point, hence the pick swap.

Pass. I'd do Hoglander for Lundkvist straight up, I guess. Even then I'm still iffy.

Yeah I’m sure every NYR fan would do Hoglander for lundkvist straight up since Hoglander is the younger, better, more experienced player and also never request a trade. Sadly Vancouver declines
