You know he's not a forward right?

Surprisingly enough hes played a few games as a winger with the Habs and with his junior team. For someone whos essentially a 7th D on the Leafs, I dont think its the worst idea to try out.

I found it interesting that some dmen in the league last year had winger as their second position on cf. Reminded me of like LB/RB in soccer who play the wing. One of the guy was Brendan Smith, I think there was another.

Bunting was good for years before TML signed him, Arizona is just the premier poverty franchise and has no idea how to promote talent amongst a slew of other misgivings. Bunting didnt come out of nowhere. Mete isnt going to go from bad to good all of a sudden

Bunting did look good in the AHL, not great, and good in the small games he played for Arizona, but I think he just means by "the next Bunting" the next surprise budget player, personally, I think the one who has the highest chance is Samsonov -not that it would be much of a surprise, but just the way people are viewing him, if he does good they will be bewildered- then I would say next would be Gaudette-and perhaps he will bring similar stuff to line 2 if he thrives that Bunting does to line 1, and then after him I would put Mete as the the "next Bunting" candidate.

The new Bunting to me is Gaudette. If Gaudette can play like he did at the WC and just find his game Leafs could have a nice bottom 6 C/RW who can be aggressive, play on the PP and score some nice goals

I think he means in terms of a guy who could come in cheap and thrive

Kind of like the next cheap guy team X brings in and performs well above that league min deal.
