The RHD Hughes is looking for

Created by: Aaron_Dell_Pickle

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I've seen this proposal from creator Jonh514 and was really interested.

Before you come at me, I am not a SJ Sharks expert. My reasonning for this trade coming from the Sharks's POV: Timo Meier needs new contract, and Idk if the sharks will have enough cap space to resign him next year. EK65 is a well respected veteran with one of the worst contract of the league. This could let a spot for a young guy like Merkley to finally make the jump to the big league. And could also provide a veteran, leader and linemate for Eklund and Bordeleau.

Gallagher is also a ''respected'' veteran with an anchor of a contract, but the cap hit is still way less than Karlsson's.

Both Players have experienced massive struggules as of late, thats why I think a change of scenerie could help them.

I think the Sharks would have to add some pieces for that trade to work, but if that lets you kept an asset such as Meier, that a small price to pay to keep such a good player.

It has been rumored for a while now that Hughes has been looking for a veteran RHD to help the young guys. EK65 could help in that departure and could teach the young guys how to make it in the NHL. It could bring extra assets to Montreal for the rebuild.

Im not very good at mock trades so the value might not be right

(Sorry if my english wasn't good or if there were mistakes, english isnt my first langue

Massive struggle? You mean Gallagher had one bad season in the past 5 season and Karlsson haven’t been the shadow of himself since joining the Shark! MTL will stay away from Karlsson, at least if Gallagher doesn’t perform to expectations he provide leadership.

Never mind the trades or the resulting roster . . . I always find it inspirational when someone for whom English is not his first language takes the time and the courage to reach out to fellow hockey fans and offer opinions and analysis.

My hat's off to you, sir. Thank you! smile

Karlsson has a really really bad contract but he's still an effective player. Gallagher on the other hand seems to only have "leadership", at least that's what everyone trading him claims his value is.

yea Coe and that 2nd are very valuable to a rebuilding sharks, If Burns wasn’t dealt this might have been logical, but with no Burns we NEED Karlsson, plus one of Gallaher or Karlsson will block the deal with their NMC.
not a bad thought and i didn’t hate hit but a little late to the party.
