I feel Wpg is the destination as if you look at that team they could use a guy like him especially with Stastny gone and can take the whole cap with no retention

And heck with how undesirable that place apparently is to UFA's probs could get a tad more out of them

But its a wait and see rn

Toronto's offer would include Future Considerations -- namely, Dubas offers to put Sakic's children through college.

Rodrigues honestly is probs going to the Wild. They freed up 5mill in total cap for a reason and he fits their system

I feel its gonna be Kerfoot for a 5th or 6th to whoever takes him as like OB its gonna be good player for way under value return and for a 50 point guy whose only owed 750k a GM would probs give up a 5th or 6th rather than go overpay for one of the remaining UFA's

Now if they do decide to move Holl then yeah FC is the return 100%

He is in talks with flames (hoping for a fit) and two other Canadian teams. Jets are certainly one of them. I think ottawa is the only other team that could fit him. Unless Montreal is looking to get him on a one year and flip him at the TDL.

Ottawa has Formenton to sign so they probs wont want to get him as they got cap issues next season with Debrincat, Zub needing new deals and need a goalie

Winnipeg could work but honestly I feel Rodrigues doesnt fit their mold and they need more of a top 6 LW rn

Calgary could make sense but I say give Pellitar a shot he could be something special or if not send down sign Rod and move on

But still Wild make sense as he can fits their playstyle

Unless they are offering a decent one year deal. I'm sure he wants term but there aren't many contenders that can offer that. Vancouver and Toronto have too many forwards. Edmonton doesn't have the cap. But maybe they could move the money. Habs, jets and sens are the only teams that make a lick of sense.

No thanks no need to revisit a guy they traded away.

I'm sure you would. Avs clearly can't take on that much cap though since they need to be mindful of performance bonuses. It's critical that they avoid overages in 2023 since they'll be really tight to the cap ceiling when MacKinnon and Byram get big raises.

They likely won't need the full $3.55m free as not all bonuses will get met, but around $2m would be prudent to budget for. If Kerfoot came at 50% retained it would potentially be feasible capwise (not that they should necessarily go for him).

Good call. Winnipeg are in a good position capwise to take advantage of teams needing to dump contracts cheap.

At 50% retained he'd only cost $1.75m x1, leaving the Avs with ~$2m in capspace to cover bonuses. That would at least be feasible capwise and despite his flaws Kerfoot would still definitely an upgrade on the Avs current options for that spare 3rd line spot (currently O'Connor).

Not saying that he'd be my first choice but if none of Kaut, Maltsev, etc impress in camp then it might be worth looking at if it costs next to nothing.

The 50% retention would probably jack up the price though to the point that it wouldn't be worth it, as he'd need to be filtered through a 3rd party (Arizona?) who would want to get paid for $1.75m x1 in retention.
