If I were in charge this offseason

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 11, 2022
Published: Sep. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This was me just being bored and having fun.

This team would beat the crap out of everyone.

The trades all make sense for all parties involved in my mind. (Van deal would have before draft when he was still on the table) - Some of these 2023 picks can be 2022.

Have fun ripping me and this team apart :) Have a wonderful day everyone!

I feel like that Washington trade doesn’t look that good. But understandable that this is just a joke

And Tom Wilson is out for most of the year, So this trade would never happen.

And pretty much all Canadian teams are on Valarmovs no trade list. he doesn't want to play in Canada.

And that's a pretty weak offer on J. T. Miller whom i doubt would even sign long term with Toronto.

If you were in charge you would have been sacked so fast.

For starters the Isles don’t make that Nylander deal

That's 100% fair - but I was responding to "If you were in charge you would have been sacked so fast."

Which would be on the basis that the Nylander trade and all of this went through.

I understand why this is a joke LOL.

Marner trade ain’t looking good for the Leafs IMO.

Olson is out for more than half the year and a 2nd a 1st and a 4th liner in Hathaway won’t cut it IMO.

I think you would have to give up a player like Järnkrok as well for the Vancouver trade to work IMO

I think if you take out the 2nd and add a mid AHL prospect it will work IMO.

How much would you want Fleury to sign for.

If this happened my lines would be…

    Bunting - Matthews - Marner
    Miller - Tavares - Kane
    Robertson - Kampf - Järnkrok
    Hathaway - Steeves - Aubé-Kubel

    Rielly - Liljegren
    Giordano - Brodie
    Muzzin - Sandin

    Fleury - Varlamov

I was proposing to sign Fleury for 2 years x 3.5m the weeks and days leading up to him signing that exact deal. If I were Dubas I would have pushed super hard to get that done.

Also, without the Marner trade, a lot of the other deals don't work out. 11m off the books opens up soooo much flexibility.

I also didn't sign Jarnkrok in this AGM.

My take was that you would get fired for doing nothing after trying to make this deal lol. Sorry.

Ottawa agrees to throw in Zaitsev with Murray and the picks. TORONTO ACCEPTS!
    Ottawa wins THE CUP.
Marner admits he's 12 and confused about the NEW hair he's been noticing ... (hushed voice) down there.
