NYR no one wants Lundqvist!
Sharks will help you out and trade Robins plus a 4th for him to help you guys out and take him.
but only because we care about you!

i think pinto projects to be a top six guy. lundkvist probably projects to be a top four guy, but his value is low considering he's asked for a trade and its public. i think NYR adds a decent bit

Could be the art of the deal but P.D said they wouldn't move Pinto in the Chych deal. Would have to assume he's untouchable. Unless Duchene is available(sorry).

I was being fully sarcastic! hence offering a top prospect and a 4th for him.
I want him with the sharks badly as I don't think our young RD Merkely will ever be top 4 and Laroque our best D prospect is still 1-2 years from playing in the NHL and 2-4 years from being a legit top 4 guy.

I don't think this swap makes Ottawa better short or long term. I think Pinto is wildly more valuable of the two tbh. For context, Ottawa is unwilling to part with Pinto to get a Chychrun deal done, not a chance will they swap him for a guy who hasn't done anything.

Pinto isn't "untouchable", but he might as well be. Trent Mann completely stuck his neck out to make sure the Sens drafted Pinto, and they'll only trade him away over his cold dead body. They see him as as pivotal of a core piece as anybody else. they'd have to be blown away by an offer to even consider moving him

I would like to say Drury is tempted about paying the price, but the simple fact is that waiver-exempt centers with a chance to emerge are too expensive without dramatically disrupting the prospect pool. It is why I believe it will have to be a young center prospect.

Only guys I would consider packaging Pinto for are :

Lafrenière, Fox, Miller or Shesterkin

Maybe a swap with Schneider depending on how high my staff is on him

Same with Greig. Sanderson is untouchable

Does it change anything if Chytil was included?

Chytil is quality (even though you wish he'd produce more) but he is not needed for Ottawa, and probably not for a long time

Sens should focus on improving the defense and/or goaltending now.

Also, look at what emoprettyboy said in post #8. Trent Mann is extremely high on Pinto. He just won't be traded in the near future

I guess there is no bringing Pinto home and his story is appealing. Chytil and Lundkvist are probably as far as the NYR would go if their evaluators thought Pinto was the 3C answer. I am not sure who I would rather have as Chytil took a leap last year in throwing around his size, so he might turn out to be exactly what is being looked for. Yes, he needs to produce more during the season, but he has the makings and is considered one of the fastest skaters on the NYR and can be a force-cutting down the middle.

Yeah but honestly, Pinto (if not derailed by injuries of course) will be in a completely different tier

A good comparable for Pinto, although less physical, is David Backes

Rookie tournament, Pinto scored 2 goals in yesterday's game and looked like a man among boys

Sens are extremely high on him and for good reason.
