ducks aren't trading a guy they just signed to a 5 year contract before he ever plays a game for them, that is how you never get Free Agents to ever sign there if you treat players like t hat

This is illogical for two reasons, even while ignoring trade value.

1. The ducks just signed Strome. It’s an unwritten rule that you never trade players you just signed in UFA.

2. Tavares has a NMC.

I appreciate you thinking outside of the box, but this is too far outside of the box for me.

Ignoring the fact we just signed him AND Tavares trade clause, why would Anaheim do this? We have vets to train up our youth, we have too many centers in a year, but Strome also plays the wing, then there's the fact that we are taking on another 6 mil in cap space for two years.

Yes, Tavs is the better player now, but he is in decline, is older, and is loosing foot speed. Seems Anaheim is doing Toronto a massive favor here.
