Yeah, no chance Montreal sniffs this. Would rather buyout Hoffman than take that anchor of a contract (and defenceman) and a nothing prospect.

That would be a pretty easy pass on a number of fronts by the habs.

Considering age and contract Edmundson is worth more than Muzzin at this point and I dont think its particularly close.

Nick robertson as a prospect doesnt really fill a need for the habs. Between Caufield Mesar Farrell they have several undersized higher end skill guys that fit s imilar profile.

Finally the habs already have 3+ guys on expiring deals they will be trying to sell at the deadline they arent using a retention spot on hoffman.

If the trade was for a RD of a similar calibre it may be more interesting but I think in general it doesnt do anyhting that helps the habs

Hoffman at 4.5M is horrible, at 2.25M he's pretty good, but yeah that's horrible for the habs anyways

Muzzin would be the habs best d-man. Cap dump, did you watch the playoffs? If the guy is healthy, he is leaps and bounds above the guys you have right now.

i like muzzin but thats not true, edmunson is cheaper, tougher and can fight. muzz makes 2m more and is 1 hit big hit away from retirement

Edmundson is twice the player he is for half the cost and it's weird calling him better than Edmundson while being on a post by trading FOR Edmundson.

I did watch the playoffs last year... it was 3-1 and this year sure was another epic post season for you guys
