You know why Dallas won't do that trade?

Because it sets us for a rebuild.

And we don't have our current first anymore...

Yes it's conditional, but filling the hole moving Robo creates will take longer than two years. And losing the chance at Kiviharju is almost equally bad as Bedard.

Agreed but hypothetical situation. I'm wondering who gets moved in Dallas to at least sign a 3x7 bridge at minimum

If he agrees to that we don't have to move anyone. Assigning Olofsson, Kero and Dobby to AHL creates enough cap space to sustain that contract and running a 21-man roster.

dude we are not trading away our ENTIRE future for one player. I would only move all of this for McDavid. Thats it. Not even Matthews. This would give us a top prospect of Sam Bolduc lmao

Alex Debrincat was a multiple-time 40 goal scorer(with another 32 in 52 games in the COVID season) who's 2 years older. He got the #7 & #39 pick this year and a 3rd two years from now. I can't see Robo getting *SO MUCH* more than what Cat got when he's got less of a track record and is seemingly holding out for a contract that costs more than Cat's. Easy pass from the Isles.
