That does nothing for Vancouver. Unless Kuzmenko is gonna make 5 plus they won't have a problem keeping him. They also aren't gonna trade Garland regardless unless they're getting a top 4 RD back

Mayfield at 3.5x5 is hefty for a bottom 4 d man. If we are going to overpay for him, might as well get him for free in UFA. As for the rest of the package, that doesn't come close to getting Garland. Wilde is now an ECHL player, and Holmstrom likely doesn't touch our roster for years.

Holmstrom is NHL ready lol. I’d trade Mayfield for Garland one for one, but that’s it.

Holmstrom wouldn't make our top 9 lol. Mayfield for Garland 1 for 1 is an embarassing proposal. Horrendous for Vancouver. Mayfield is a bottom 4 defender. Garland would be the Isles' best winger by a large margin.

Mayfield would be top pair in Vancouver. Garland would probably be the isles best winger in the short term lol. Seems fair to me.

Dude Mayfield posted great results with Pelech last year, just stop it lol. Vancouver overpaid to get him, and took on one of the worst contracts in the league while doing so.

Doesn't change the fact that Garland is probably the best winger out of everyone from the Canucks and Isles. Posting great results with Pelech isn't hard because Pelech is actually very good.

Mayfield for 1 year in exchange for Garland for 4 years? Garland is better, younger, and has more term and somehow this is considered fair? Might as well pick him up in July if he is so good

Garland is a high end winger, and I’d be interested in acquiring him. Just not at this price. Holmstrom has developed nicely, he’s just stuck in Bridgeport cause of all the middling veterans Lou signed.

Cap space is a factor here. Depends on what u have to pay Horvat/Kuzmenko this off season. Hogslander will need a new deal too.

Based on term I get it, but most teams r cap strapped rn — you won’t get fair value for that reason. Look what Bjorkstrand got.

There is already room for Horvat, and Hoglander isn't going to break the bank. Kuzmenko is a bit more of a wildcard, but if the Canucks can't come to an agreement on an extension if he hits, he'll be moved at the deadline

Canucks will just wait for the cap to go up and sell higher on Garland down the road if he doesn't want to be a Canuck for life. At least not on the club's terms

Lmao. He makes more than any d man on the isles and he wouldn’t be in their top four. I’m not even saying he’s bad, but at that price point the dollar value is atrocious.

OEL would play in the Isles top 4 over Romanov easily. He provided at least 5M in value last year. Not too bad considering where he was at coming over from Arizona

Tell me you haven’t seen Romanov without telling me you haven’t seen Romanov. Dude hits harder than 99% of the league, and if you try and hit him ur just gonna hurt ur self.

OEL's contract isn't buyout proof in case you hadn't noticed. Either way, I just exposed you for your obvious level of prejudice

K, first of all, physicality is just one component of the game. Romanov is hardly a game breaker at this point in time
