I'm quickly falling in love with Calle Jarnkrok. Smart, versatile, dependable, composed under pressure, and an underrated shot.

😂 I saw on Twitter someone compared him to a 2007 Jetta, just super reliable. Could not be more accurate

Please be our answer. Samsonov has a GAA of 2.00 and has stopped 49 of 53 shots in his first two games of the season for a SV% of .925 and a record of 2-0-0

As hes only 25 which means plenty of hockey left

Yah if he keeps this up the leafs are going to look like geniuses. Well, except for the fact that they’d still have a 4.6 mil injury prone backup…

How about a little love for Holl (at least for one day) for his game winning goal.

I can't believe we have Murray at 4.7m and he expires in two years.

Was watching the Marlies game earlier... Boy Rifai look good. Not a flashy player, but absolutely oozed competence.

Nice game from Petruzelli also. Marlies could struggle to score without Nicky Bobby.

BUF looks to have a good one in Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

And there we go

I wouldn’t mind seeing:

Bunting Matthews Marner
Nylander Tavares Jarnkrok
Engvall Kerfoot Robertson
ZAR Kampf NAK

Don’t love breaking up the 3rd line, they have been great but adding a more responsible player to that kind in Jarnkrok could really help them pop, Tavares and Nylander are looking great together, Calle might really solidify that line. And I think Robertson could really help out with some scoring paired with Engvall and Kerfoot.

Anybody think Simmonds might get a chance to win his spot back now that he's up with the team? I personally haven't found the 4th line to be all that great as of yet.

I’m with you, haven’t loved the 4th line either. Personally I’m ok with not having Simmonds in the lineup. But I feel Kampf could really use Engvall back on his wing (it’s crazy how underrated Engvall is) he completes lines he is on. I’d be ok with taking out NAK every now and then and go: Engvall Kampf ZAR

I haven't really missed Simmonds in the lineup, but with the 4th line doing a whole lot of nothing right now, it wouldn't hurt to put him back in either.

I'd actually like to see Kampf and Kerfoot switch spots. Sucks to have Kerfoot's $3.5m on the 4th line, but Engvall and Kampf were the two staples of one of the best shut down lines in the league last year and Jarnkrok is no slouch either. They can handle the other teams top lines and free up some matchups for the top 2 lines.

Againt Ottawa I loved the 4th line. The forecheck lead to a good chunk of scoring chances. If they can improve their finish and chip in some more goals they are set

The 4th line got caved in against Ottawa.

Not reallyone really strong play seen was zar checked Chabot and set up kubel for a scoring chance in ott own zone. It was only the end where they had a fumble but holl saved it.

Just needs time as neither of these guys have played together for long compared to other lines. By game 10 probs will see a big improvement

I know Murray's hurt and all but man kind of glad we didnt end up signing MAF

Still early but

The guy looks like he should have retired last year

Now Murray being hurt isnt great either but its kind of better than having a Starter who has a 8.37 GAA

Continue playing down to your opponent

Murray being hurt 3 games into the season is exactly why trading for him was a mistake. He pulled his groin in practice, like if this was in January or February I could maybe get it, but had all summer/preseason to be ready for the season. It’s inexcusable. This is Mrazek all over again. This was so predictable.

At least we have Samsonov.

7 goals against at 5v5 for Rielly. Man that 4th line is rough.

This team is such a broken record, same issues year after year.

Against Strong Teams

Leafs look like cup contenders who will give you a run for your money

Against Bedard Teams

Alright we will put only 10% of our effort into this game and leave the goalie to dry and maybe we get a point if were lucky

This is not a good mentality to go by as yes beating cup contenders is a nice showing of strength but then you weaken it by losing to non-playoff teams in showcase that is ECHL worthy.
