Bit confused about the Reimer trade. Murray is only out for a month-month and a half. No need to get Reimer.

Reimer ask has been a 2nd zero retention. and that offer isn’t cutting it.

Sure they can consider that pens trade all they want. They could also consider asking for Crosby instead. But the pens won’t be interested

If Pittsburgh opted to move Friedman it would be for the same reason the Leafs were looking to move Simmonds which is to "do right by the player" and send them to a team that they can play.

So, the issue isn't really that Friedman is more valuable than Simmonds. The issue is that even if Pittsburgh wanted Simmonds, they can't afford to even have him as a healthy scratch, playing games here and there. So, they are better off keeping Friedman in the minors until they accrue some cap or get a decent pick out/waiver exempt player.

Long story short, if the trade was a solution for both teams it could happen regardless of value.
Although I'm sure the Leafs would be willing to add a late pick if they felt that Friedman addresses a need.

Only if they trade the Joey Anderson statue outside of Scotiabank with him. Cant pass on future HOF players like Anderson

Ok? If they opt to trade Friedman to do right by the player they would probably want something that would help them. The only line that Simmonds may fit on would be the 3rd with Carter. But with his lack of skating ability he wouldn’t cut it in Sully’s system.

Yeah, I wasn't saying it was a fit, quite the opposite since Simmonds would get waived anyways. When you said they could consider asking for Crosby but the pens wouldn't be interested that kind of implied that you had an issue with the value not necessarily Simmonds' utility to the team.
