CBJ shouldnt do Boqvist for Chychrun one for one, let alone this

Ottawa needs more defensive depth. Won't be trading a Solid D for a bubble AHLer

Last thing Ottawa needs to be doing is subtracting from the blueline, unless it's Zaitsev

131 career games. 55 with CBJ he has undeniably offensive skill. He is a massive defensive liability, loses board battles, struggles to clear the zone. It would be stupid to judge a player off 3 games but when they are 3 games into a new season and all the same old problems are still there its not necessarily a sign of good things to come

its also not that he's bad its just that hes not nearly as valuable as Chychrun

hes been in the league for longer than this year..

Boqvist has great offensive skill but nothing else. Jackets already have enough dmen that can’t play defense. I would drive Boqvist to the airport myself if it would get us chychrun

RD who had a very solid 21-22. RD are impossible to come by these days, and theyre always at a steep price. He is way more valuable

I'm not sure Chych is the solution to our defensive foes. If what we need is defensvie D-men, we should be shooting for Connor Murphy, imo. Cheaper, brings a lot more defensively, can compliment Z on the top line. I'm not sure if its Boqvist, but we definitely need to clear out some D.

And as for Chych, I just don't get a good feeling with him, not to mention:

• CBJ have invested three first-round picks on defensemen in the past two drafts: Corson Ceulemans at No. 25 in 2021, and David Jiricek at No. 6 and Denton Mateychuk at No. 12 this summer. It won’t be long before they’re claiming NHL roster spots, even if one of them is included in the trade.

• Chychrun (left shot) has played mostly on the left side in the NHL. He’d be an instant upgrade to the overall unit, sure, but somebody in the top four would have to move to the right side. Not ideal.

• His injury concerns are real. Beyond the ankle and wrist work this summer, he’s had both ACLs repaired and a shoulder surgery to fix a torn ligament. That’s a lot of work for a player who doesn’t turn 25 until March.

Someone is going to overpay for him (good for you, ASU!), but I do not want it to be CBJ.

..what is your definition of solid? outside of a high shooting percentage, he blew

above average WAR, young and has offensive talents. He was also a #1RD at 21 years old. He just turned 22. And is a RD. You dont trade RD. Look at what Nils Lundqvist got an Boqsvist is way better.
